{"id":185,"date":"2013-10-14T12:12:38","date_gmt":"2013-10-14T11:12:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/joostbos.com\/\/?p=185"},"modified":"2020-10-30T22:32:57","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T21:32:57","slug":"futureplay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joostbos.com\/index.php\/futureplay\/","title":{"rendered":"FuturePlay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FuturePlay was an interactive and immersive theatre\/game show I made while working on an internship with <a href=\"coneyhq.org\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Coney<\/span><\/a>, in September 2013. Tailored for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"Futurefest\" href=\"http:\/\/www.futurefest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nesta&#8217;s FutureFest<\/a><\/span> in Shoreditch Town Hall, London, we created a three-act show, where the enigmatic Frankie Kuniklo kicked the event off with a talk on play in the future. The second act entailed an action-packed hour-long show, where an audience\/players of 70 to 80 chose one of three startup companies (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"Playify\" href=\"http:\/\/www.playify.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Playify<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"Glitchspring\" href=\"http:\/\/www.glitchspring.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Glitchspring<\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"&gt;CC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nowyoucc.me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&gt;CC<\/a><\/span>) as their team, played a set of games which reflected possible future scenarios revolving around play. <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">and eventually uncovered an unexpected mystery.<\/span><br \/>\nFutureplay culminated in the third act, which entailed a trail of clues, phone calls, texts and playful secret agents around the area of Shoreditch.<\/p>\n<p>I worked mainly with the director Tassos Stevens, game designer Will Drew and actor Brian Ferguson, as the core creative team, as well as the rest of the FuturePlay team.
