{"id":297,"date":"2015-06-27T22:04:04","date_gmt":"2015-06-27T21:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/joostbos.com\/?p=297"},"modified":"2015-09-27T23:01:30","modified_gmt":"2015-09-27T22:01:30","slug":"vloedelingen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joostbos.com\/index.php\/vloedelingen\/","title":{"rendered":"Vloedelingen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vloedelingen is my graduation project, an interactive theatre show with a playing audience who experience and play with \u00a0the dynamics of social and political walls.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vloedelingen mixes games, roleplay and audience interaction to create a live theatre experience, in <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-336\" src=\"https:\/\/joostbos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Joost0061-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Joost006\" width=\"194\" height=\"224\" \/>order\u00a0to reach a playful discussion about political themes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Mainland has flooded after a reckless and apocalyptic storm. At least half of the country has been reclaimed by the sea. A group of surviving Mainlanders hope to flee to the island situated to the north, but the Islanders have also been affected by the storm.<br \/>\nWith dwindling resources and deep-rooted prejudices, there seems to be<br \/>\nno co-operation in sight.<\/p>\n<p>As the audience, you&#8217;re either an Islander or a Mainlander.<br \/>\nThe audience actively decides the course of the story in a playful manner.<br \/>\nWill you manage and divide the scarce resources well?<br \/>\nWill you unite the two groups or protect your people at all costs?<\/p>\n<p>Vloedelingen is mostly aimed to explore the experiences and dynamics around the very current themes of immigration, asylum seekers and prejudice, and attempts to immerse the audience into a playful yet engaging experience so as to\u00a0encourage reflection and discussion on those topics.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vloedelingen was played and discussed at:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hogeschool voor de Kunsten: Several times as
